Generally speaking, I am interested in large landscapes, how we
shape them, how we use them, and we protect them. I am particularly interested
in the information and technologies that we use to engage in these activities.

However, small spaces and features in the landscape can be fairly intriguing and vital to understanding larger spaces. |
| As
a member of the faculty I get to hang out with people like this
all of the time. You know...smoking our pipes and discussing the
merit of various patterns for tweed jackets. We ponder weighty questions about great landscapes and important shapers.

Not that it is all that important, but on my way to New Jersey I made a few stops along the way. I got my BSLA at the University of Kentucky, my MLA at Louisiana State University, and my PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

I perform my research at the Grant F. Walton Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis (CRSSA). CRSSA is a unit within the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station here at Cook College, Rutgers. |
|
My research projects include analysis of a national Framework
Data Survey and interviews about Data Sharing in Local Governments.
I am interested in Public
Participatory GIS and Institutional
GIS. I am currently working on a landscape change research program. Recent papers include Access and Participation and local government results from the Framework Data Survey (A longer report is available online). |

One of the most important things that I do in my life is to teach...Even though it'll probably make me prematurely gray. My rotation of classes includes The Fundamentals of Environmental Planning and Intermediate Environmental Geomatics. |
| I
have also taught Advanced
Environmental Geomatics and Jr/Sr. Colloquium and the Junior
L.A. studio.
In addition, I have taught a Graduate
Seminar in GIS History, once with Dr.
Rick Lathrop, once without. We
keep hoping to revisit that efort.

Since I get a lot of repeat questions, I give a lot of repeat answers.
I am unhappy with my FINAL grade and would like to see it changed. What can I do?
I am considering grad school at Rutgers and would like to be your student. Can you get me in? Can you fund my work? Is your program good? Is your program good for me? Does your work fit well with my interests? What do I need to know?
